The big difference between social media and a journal is, it is visible to all, and most journals are visible to only the person writing in the journal and family members or friends who may come across it by either snooping or by accident.
Individuals posting on Social Media sites need to remember that it is very likely that someone will see that post, even if they change their minds and delete the posts after posting. Also, none of us knows where in cyberspace that post is located after deletion.
